Alderholt's got the 'X Factor'!

The X Factor came to Alderholt this Easter, when the famous singing talent competition provided the theme for children's activities run by St James' Church. Each morning began with a specially filmed episode, featuring well known locals auditioning (badly) with Simon Cowell and the other judges represented by members of St James' youth group. The Live Final on Good Friday, attended by parents, was between the ungracious, granny-bashing Baz and the new girl singer sensation JC... The shock result was that Baz had got the fickle public vote. Some simple dramas then presented the similarities with the Passion of Christ. A hundred village children aged 4 to 16 enjoyed a mixed programme of crafts, dance, story and drama to help explore the real 'X Factor' in the cross of Jesus.
