Welcome to St. James' Church.

St. James' is the Parish Church of Alderholt, Dorset, UK, in the Diocese of Salisbury.

A Pilgrim Church - Going Places

By tradition, St. James is the patron saint of travellers, and we ask that as you visit us on your journey through the internet, you pause to pray, and of your goodness give to those in need.

Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of the mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty, to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and for ever. Amen.

May all joys find here their source and their deepening ...
may all sorrows find here their solace and understanding ...
may anger and bitterness find their healing, and the guilty heart its absolution ...
and may all who worship here find peace,
for here we are conscious of stepping into the presence of God .
