Welcome to St. James' Church.

St. James' is the Parish Church of Alderholt, Dorset, UK, in the Diocese of Salisbury.

A Pilgrim Church - Going Places

By tradition, St. James is the patron saint of travellers, and we ask that as you visit us on your journey through the internet, you pause to pray, and of your goodness give to those in need.

Grant, O most merciful God, that as thine holy Apostle Saint James, leaving his father and all that he had, without delay was obedient unto the calling of the Son Jesus Christ, and followed him; so we, forsaking all worldly and carnal affections, may be evermore ready to follow thy holy commandments; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May all joys find here their source and their deepening ...
may all sorrows find here their solace and understanding ...
may anger and bitterness find their healing, and the guilty heart its absolution ...
and may all who worship here find peace,
for here we are conscious of stepping into the presence of God .
